Miguel León
AnimHado Studio
Director. Art director, screenwriter, and especially animator. He has worked for over 10 years as a sculptor, this experience leading him to build characters, props, and sets for stop motion. He has studied graphic design, screenwriting, and animation. He trained in the audiovisual production labs of Cinemateca Rodante, part of the Bogotá Film Library.
He participated in the 1st Artistic Residency for Stop Motion Animators at Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, in partnership with the Argentine studio Can Can Club. Since 2017, he has been Director, Art Director, and Lead Animator at the animation studio AnimHado, with which he has made short films that have received honorable mentions, official selections, and awards at film festivals. His stories have earned him awards such as Best Animator, Best Director, and Best Screenwriter.
He was the character builder and animator for Ocaso, a short film nominated for the 2025 Macondo Awards. He also directed and animated The Plastic Turtle, a project that has been selected at more than 60 national and international film festivals. He is currently in the pre-production stage of his new short film, The Tourist from Hongo City, and is preparing the distribution stage for his short film, Pan. Both stop motion projects were winners of the Film Development Fund. He is a professor of stop motion at Jorge Tadeo Lozano University.
